LG CNS, Korea Investment Real Asset Management will cooperate with VNPT to build a hyperscale AI data center in Vietnam with an expected power capacity of 40 MW…

On August 12, LG CNS announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on “Cooperation in Developing a Data Center in Vietnam” with the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT).
The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Hyun Shin-kyu – President of LG CNS, Mr. Tô Dũng Thái – Chairman of VNPT, Mr. Ngô Diên Hy – Vice Chairman of VNPT, and Mr. Kim Yong-sik – CEO of Korea Investment Real Asset Management.
Following the event, Business Korea commented that LG CNS is taking a bold step in building an artificial intelligence (AI) data center in Vietnam.
Earlier, on August 11, representatives from VNPT and Korea Investment Real Asset Management visited the Hanam Data Center in South Korea, operated by LG CNS, to learn about its technology and assess its capabilities for project implementation.
Under the agreement, the three parties will jointly develop a hyperscale AI data center in Vietnam with an expected power capacity of 40 MW. Each party will set up its own dedicated task force of experts to work comprehensively from hardware infrastructure (servers, storage systems) to network infrastructure (telecommunications, circuits), aiming to build a strong AI platform for Vietnam.
LG CNS is currently the first South Korean company to win a bid for AI data center infrastructure in Indonesia and is actively expanding its presence in Southeast Asia, with Vietnam positioned as its next strategic market.
Mr. Hyun Shin-kyu affirmed: “This agreement will be a turning point in promoting digital transformation in Vietnam, going beyond the scope of data center business operations.”
