The leader of the National Innovation Center said that he is "ready to cooperate with Meta, Nvidia, Marvell, Siemens, especially in the fields of AI, semiconductors, and smart manufacturing".
At the Vietnam Investment Forum, held on the sidelines of the Southeast Asia Semiconductor Exhibition 2025 (SEMICON SEA 2025), Mr. Vu Quoc Huy, Director of the National Innovation Center (NIC), mentioned his desire to cooperate with world technology corporations.
According to Mr. Huy, Vietnam is promoting the transformation of its growth model, taking science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as key pillars. “Vietnam welcomes and is ready to cooperate with the world’s leading technology corporations such as Meta, Nvidia, Marvell, Cadence, Dassault Systèmes, Siemens… to develop an innovation ecosystem, especially in strategic technology fields such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing…”, he said.
In response to Vietnam’s call, Mr. Rafael Frankel, Director of Public Policy for the Asia-Pacific region of Meta, said that he is working with NIC to implement the ViGen project – an open source Vietnamese data set. According to him, this is a foundation for Vietnam to develop advanced AI applications to serve the community.

“Meta is expanding its presence in Vietnam through manufacturing activities, demonstrating its long-term commitment to accompanying the development of Vietnam's technology and digital economy,” a Meta representative affirmed.
Mr. Rafael Frankel also reiterated his commitment to the plan to expand the production of Quest 3S mixed reality devices in Vietnam, which was previously announced by Meta's President of Global External Affairs - Mr. Nick Clegg at the Vietnam Innovation Festival 2024. This plan is expected to create 1,000 jobs and contribute millions of USD to the Vietnamese economy.
Representative of the world's leading semiconductor corporation, Mr. Le Quang Dam, General Director of Marvell Vietnam, commented that Vietnam is a dynamic investment environment with strong support from the Government, modern infrastructure and high-quality human resources. "This is the competitive advantage that helps Vietnam become a leading destination for high-tech enterprises," he said.

In December 2024, Nvidia signed with the Vietnamese Government to open an R&D Center and AI Data Center to promote the application of artificial intelligence and expand employment for domestic human resources.
The Vietnam Research and Development Center (VRDC) and the AI Data Center are expected to be the foundation for Nvidia and domestic partners to deploy advanced AI.
According to the National Innovation Center, 2024 marks an important turning point when Vietnam officially participates deeply in the global semiconductor supply chain. Vietnam is gradually realizing its goal of becoming an emerging technology and innovation center in Southeast Asia.
Sharing at a recent event, Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Manh Hung said that Vietnam's "path" to technological development must be through mastering "strategic products". Because the products are very clear, solve Vietnam's problems, and at the same time bring practical value.
He oriented Vietnam's mastery of strategic technologies to produce practical results such as satellites, rockets, robots, or the establishment of a drone industry..., that is, mastering specific products to serve Vietnam.
