As a pioneer in digital infrastructure, FPT is committed to working with government agencies to build a secure data ecosystem that strengthens cybersecurity and safeguards national information.

In addition to FPT, another technology giant, Viettel, is aggressively building new data centers.

Viettel is currently constructing a nearly 40,000 m² data center at Tan Phu Trung Industrial Park, Ho Chi Minh City. This hyperscale project is comparable to some of the world’s largest data centers, with a capacity of over 100 MW and approximately 10,000 racks. The first phase is expected to be completed and operational by Q1 2026, with the entire project slated for completion before 2030. Viettel already operates 15 data centers across Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.

VNPT is also actively participating in this race, operating eight data centers in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, and Da Nang. VNPT’s largest facility is located in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, Hanoi, with a scale of 2,000 racks.

According to Data Center Map, Vietnam currently has about 29 data centers. The rapid construction of new facilities is being driven by surging data demand and digital transformation efforts. The data center market offers fast growth, long-term competitive advantages, and strong appeal to major international corporations.

Leading global tech giants such as Google, Amazon, and Alibaba have also outlined business plans for the Vietnamese market, attracted by its double-digit growth rates in recent years.

A report by Mordor Intelligence estimates that Vietnam’s data center capacity will reach nearly 525 MW in 2025 and exceed 950 MW by 2030, representing a CAGR of more than 12.6%.

ResearchAndMarkets projects that Vietnam’s data center market will reach USD 1.6 billion by 2030, with a CAGR of around 10–12% per year — a major opportunity for businesses that can capture this momentum.

Technology experts in Ho Chi Minh City emphasize that data centers play a crucial role in the country’s digital transformation.
