Data has become an important \u201cresource\u201d for all economic and technological activities, and optical cables are playing an irreplaceable role in the construction and operation of data centers, as well as the development of cloud computing. Not just a transmission medium, optical cables are the lifeblood of connectivity, ensuring performance, reliability and scalability for global digital infrastructure.<\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Core infrastructure of modern Data Center<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

In a data center, where millions of terabytes of data are processed, stored, and exchanged every day, transmission speeds and near-zero latency are a must. Fiber optic cables, capable of transmitting data using light at speeds of up to hundreds of Gbps (or even Tbps), have become the standard choice for both intra-data center and inter-data center connections.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fiber optic infrastructure enables:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In particular, with the trend of deploying large-scale (hyperscale) Data Centers in Vietnam and the world, the application of high-standard optical cables such as OM4, OM5 or single-mode optical cables is a decisive factor to meet the expanding needs of capacity and bandwidth.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    2. Connecting Platforms for Cloud Computing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

    Cloud computing is based on a distributed resource model \u2013 where data and processing are no longer centralized at one point, but are distributed across many different data centers, even in many countries. To ensure synchronization, security and real-time access, the connection between clouds (cloud interconnect) must be high-speed and absolutely stable \u2013 something that fiber optic cables do better than any other transmission technology today.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Fiber optic systems not only serve internal connections between public clouds and private clouds, but also support Hybrid Cloud - a hybrid model that is increasingly popular in organizations and businesses. Fiber optics are also the foundation for building dedicated, highly secure connections between cloud services and customers' on-premise systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In addition, real-time cloud services such as streaming, AI\/ML, big data analytics or large-scale IoT applications all require high-bandwidth, extremely low-latency transmission lines - once again affirming the irreplaceable role of fiber optic cables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    3. Promote digital transformation and digital economy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Building Data Centers using high-speed fiber optic cables and connecting directly to cloud systems not only serves technological needs but is also an important factor in promoting the digital economy. In Vietnam, businesses are shifting their systems to the cloud to save costs, increase flexibility and expandability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    In this context, fiber optic infrastructure plays the role of the \u201cbackbone\u201d of the digital ecosystem, connecting data platforms, computing centers, AI, storage and end-user applications. In particular, with the strong development of high-speed submarine and domestic fiber optic cables, Vietnam has a great opportunity to become a data transit and cloud service center in the Asia-Pacific region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Today,<\/strong>optical cables are not only providing transmission services, but are also the essential foundation for today's most important digital infrastructure systems - from Data Centers to Cloud Computing. Serious investment<\/strong> in optical cable infrastructure not only enhances technological capabilities, but also creates leverage for countries,<\/strong> and businesses to break through in the digital transformation process.
