Among them, solar power has emerged as an effective and sustainable solution, not only helping to meet the increasing demand for energy but also contributing to minimizing negative impacts on the natural environment. In Vietnam, the strong development of solar energy projects in recent years shows that the awareness and actions of the business community and the government towards the goal of green development are gradually being materialized.

Solar power emerges as an efficient and sustainable solution

Among the pioneering enterprises, DCH Group has made its mark with a large-scale Solar Farm system, which not only brings economic efficiency but also creates clear positive environmental impacts.

Solar power, also known as photovoltaic energy, is the process of converting sunlight into electricity through solar panels. Unlike traditional forms of electricity production such as thermal power or hydropower, solar power systems do not produce greenhouse gas emissions, do not consume non-renewable resources, and do not discharge toxic substances into the water or soil environment. This is a great advantage, especially in the context of the world facing the risk of fossil resource depletion and increasing serious environmental pollution.

According to research from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), if properly invested, solar power can make a significant contribution to meeting global electricity demand. Not only that, it also helps reduce billions of tons of CO₂ emissions each year - one of the main causes of global warming. Reducing dependence on coal and oil not only protects natural resources but is also a practical action to protect the planet from the increasingly obvious threat of climate change.

From an environmental perspective, the benefits of solar power are clear. First of all, the process of producing electricity from solar energy does not emit greenhouse gases. This helps reduce great pressure on the atmosphere, especially in developing countries like Vietnam, where the demand for electricity is increasing. Second, solar power does not pollute the air, does not generate fine dust, does not emit SO₂ or NOx - substances that can directly affect human health and the ecosystem. At the same time, not using water for cooling like thermal power plants also helps limit pressure on freshwater resources - which are increasingly scarce.

Solar power also helps reduce billions of tons of CO₂ emissions each year – one of the main causes of global warming.

Another less mentioned but equally important benefit is the positive impact of solar power systems on land. Typically, solar farm projects are deployed on semi-desert, barren or unsuitable land for agricultural cultivation. Installing solar panels in these areas not only does not disrupt the ecosystem but can also be combined with models such as agricultural cultivation under panels, raising small livestock or growing medicinal plants. This not only makes good use of land resources but also creates sustainable livelihoods for local people.

In fact, the above benefits have been clearly demonstrated through the Solar Farm project of DCH Group - one of the pioneers in the field of clean energy development in Vietnam. The project is deployed in the South Central region, where the climate is sunny, the solar radiation is high and suitable for developing solar power on an industrial scale. The first phase of the project has a capacity of 100 MWp, the equivalent amount of electricity is enough to supply more than 50,000 households, while contributing to reducing hundreds of thousands of tons of CO₂ emissions each year compared to electricity production from fossil sources.

In the future, not only benefiting from electricity output, DCH's Solar Farm project will also create positive changes for the local environment. By not using fossil fuels, the air quality in the area surrounding the project will be significantly improved. In addition, the project is also designed in an open model, retaining natural vegetation in areas where no panels are installed, thereby maintaining biodiversity and effectively preventing soil erosion.

It is noteworthy that DCH Group is actively implementing models combining solar power and high technology, thereby expanding the benefits of the project from the environmental aspect to the socio-economic aspect.

Looking further, DCH does not consider solar farms simply as an energy project but as a foundation for building a comprehensive sustainable development ecosystem.
