BESS stands for Battery Energy Storage Systems, which is a technology for storing large amounts of energy using batteries such as lithium ion, a rechargeable battery that can store energy from various sources and discharge it when needed. A BESS system consists of one or more batteries and can be used to balance the grid, provide backup power, and improve grid stability.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Battery energy storage systems (BESS) often have high round-trip efficiency \u2013 BESS have very large capacities (up to several hundred MW) and can mobilize large capacity, maintained for a long time, meaning that the input energy during charging is almost completely recovered during discharging. Therefore, this is a potential solution, indispensable in the long term in the power system integrating renewable energy sources. There are 3 main advantages including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
