As the administrative - political - economic - cultural center of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, Vung Tau is known by many people not only as a beautiful and charming coastal city, but also as one of the localities that does a good job of promoting investment and attracting domestic and foreign capital sources.

In the period of 2025 - 2030, along with the implementation of the government's orientation on digital technology development, Ba Ria Vung Tau province has strongly transformed, developed in the direction of high technology, attracted domestic and international investors to form High-tech Zones to develop telecommunications services, meet the needs of this field for all domestic and international customers, and at the same time to develop the province's economy in the direction of digitalization.
Within that orientation, DCH also asked for the province's opinion on investing in two projects: Data Center - Digital Hub and Submarine Cable Station.

Built on an area of 5000 m² in Vung Tau City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province. The investment project "DCH Cable Landing Station" is an important strategic project to develop DCH's telecommunications infrastructure with an investment of up to 100 billion VND.

The project aims to create a modern, synchronous infrastructure to connect submarine optical cables from international regions to Vietnam and from Vietnam to international destinations, serving the needs of international data transmission and reception. The project is also part of a long-term strategy to expand and enhance Vietnam's international connection capacity through submarine and terrestrial optical cables, making Vietnam one of the regional and international data transfer centers.
In addition to the benefits in terms of connectivity and telecommunications infrastructure, the project also contributes positively to the economic development of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in particular and the country in general. The submarine optical cable landing station will create many job opportunities for workers in the area, thereby promoting local economic development. Jobs related to the construction, operation and maintenance of the optical cable station will create thousands of stable jobs, contributing to improving the quality of life and ensuring social security for the people.
The submarine cable station will act as a gateway connecting DCH's submarine cable lines with international hubs, which are important international data transit points. In addition, this is also the place where international optical cable lines (including submarine and terrestrial optical cables) and 2 North-South optical cable axes are gathered. The connection between submarine optical cables and North-South terrestrial optical cables will create a comprehensive telecommunications network, helping to enhance connectivity and data distribution between domestic and international regions. This will create a solid foundation for the strong development of the information technology and telecommunications industry in Vietnam, while promoting related industries such as e-commerce, cloud computing services, and other high-tech applications.
The DCH Submarine Optical Cable Landing Station project not only meets the demand for international connectivity via submarine optical cables but also makes an important contribution to the economic and social development of Ba Ria Vung Tau province, improving the capacity of the national telecommunications infrastructure and creating job opportunities, while contributing to the state budget. This is a strategic step to help Vietnam enhance its role in the international telecommunications sector, contributing to the development of the digital economy in the future.
