Vietnam has just witnessed an important milestone in the telecommunications industry when DCH Telecom Construction Investment Joint Stock Company (DCH Telecom) was officially granted a telecommunications service business license No. 261/GP - BKHCN signed on June 20, 2025 by the Ministry of Science and Technology, allowing it to directly deploy and provide transmission services on fiber optic infrastructure invested and developed by DCH Telecom.
This is a strategic step, not only opening up opportunities for the development of the national digital infrastructure system but also marking the full and proactive participation of the private sector in the telecommunications sector - one of the core industries of the digital economy in the era of AI and global connectivity.
OPTICAL CABLE INFRASTRUCTURE – THE FOUNDATION FOR A NEW TELECOMMUNICATIONS ECOSYSTEM
Immediately after being licensed, DCH Telecom has promoted research on a series of strategic fiber optic cable projects, including international submarine fiber optic cable lines connecting Vietnam with international Data Hubs such as Japan, Singapore, etc., as well as planning to deploy inland transmission cable lines connecting key economic centers in the country.
This fiber optic cable system will be the backbone for a high-speed, low-latency, and secure network, paving the way for the development of data centers, AI services, cloud computing, and digital technology platforms serving not only the domestic market but also the regional and global markets.
